Part of the ceasefire agreement with Japan required that they remove the propellers from all aircraft. Here you can see a large number of Mitsubishi A6M5 Zeros, and other aircraft, with the props removed. They were scrapped and helped rebuild the country.

Why scrap just the prop and not the entire aircraft?

they pulled the props at the ceasefire so the aircraft would not be a threat. They aircraft were scrapped later.
